Our difference is in our "SOURCING PROCESS"
Our Sona Masoori Premium/Regular Rice is sourced from the finest rice growing regions in Karnataka, such as Raichur, Koppal & the Bellary district, and from the Kurnool regions of Andhra Pradesh. Our rice is made of paddy that is older by 12 to 18 months.
Sona Masoori is largely considered to be healthy and is often part of healthy diets as it contains less starch and is easily digestible. It is ideal for preparing dishes such as sweet pongal, biriyani, fried rice and for that extra oomph in daily cooking.
All of Big Basket’s rice undergoes a stringent quality process so that we can deliver nothing but the best quality to our customers.
To get the best out of BB’s Sona Masoori Premium Rice…
Pressure Cooker:
-
Take one cup of rice from the sample and wash it twice gently with clear water. Put the rice in a utensil and then pour 2.5 cups of drinking water in the utensil. Caution: The cup used for measuring rice and water should be same.
-
Place the Utensil inside the pressure cooker, keep a lid on the utensil, close the pressure cooker and place it on the gas stove with the “weight” inserted to the pin.
-
Wait for 2 whistles, and then keep the cooker on low flame (SIM) for 3 - 5 minutes then switch the gas off.
Serve Hot after 20 - 30minutes.
Electric Cooker:
Follow the points 1 above , except that you use the Electric Cooker pot, provided for this purpose. (Instead of the utensil), place the pot inside the electric cooker.
-
Plug the cooker in and press the switch to turn it on.
-
Caution: Don’t lift the lid to check on the rice. The cooking process depends on the development of the steam inside the pot, hence letting the steam escape by opening the lid will lead rice not getting properly cooked.
-
The rice cooker automatically turns off when the temperature inside the pot exceeds the water boiling point.
-
Allow the rice to “rest” for 10 minutes before removing the lid.
