Banana Bonda is an easy to make South Indian evening snack made with wheat flour, flavored with banana and cardamom.

Step 1 :

Peel and mash the banana.

Step 2 :

Place it in a large bowl along with wheat flour, sugar, cardamom powder and cooking soda.

Step 3 :

Add 1/4 cup of water, in portions to make a very sticky dough.

Step 4 :

Meanwhile heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.

Step 5 :

Apply a little oil to the palm of your hand. Make balls with the dough.

Step 6 :

When the oil is hot enough, slide it into the oil. Fry, turning it occasionally, until golden brown.

Step 7 :

Repeat until dough is used up. Drain them on tissue.

Step 8 :

Serve hot bondas with tea or coffee.
