Frozen veggies and snacks recipe
Here we have a few mouth-watering recipes which you can try out using these ready to cook frozen veggies and snacks.
- Veg Au Gratin:If you are a fan of continental cuisines then you are going to love this creamy veggie indulgence!
Ingredients:
- Two tablespoon butter
- Half cup chopped broccoli
- Half cup chopped carrots
- Half cup chopped bell peppers
- Half cup fresh or frozen sweet corn
- Half cup fresh or frozen green peas
- Two tablespoon Maida
- 2 cups of milk
- One-fourth cup grated mozzarella cheese
- One medium sized onion chopped
- 3-4 cloves garlic chopped
- One teaspoon herb seasoning
- One teaspoon chilli flakes
- One teaspoon pepper powder
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Blanch all the veggies except for onions and garlic and keep aside.
- Heat butter in a pan and sauté the onions and garlic for about two minutes.
- Next, add the veggies and sauté for another minute or so.
- Add Maida flour into this and roast it for 2-3 minutes.
- Next, slowly start adding the milk and keep whisking continuously so that no lumps are formed.
- Once you have added all the milk, add the seasonings, cheese and keep stirring until the sauce starts to thicken.
- Once the sauce is thick, transfer it to a baking dish and top it with remaining cheese and drizzle a little butter on top of it.
- Microwave, the dish for 10-15 minutes in a preheated oven at 180-degree C. Serve it with crispy garlic bread or toast!
Cooking tip: You can try it out with any veggies of your choice like cauliflower, French beans, baby corns or even potatoes, the combinations are endless! So add a few variations every time you try it.
- Crispy corn:This delicious appetiser can be served as a starter in the next party at your place. It’s super tasty, crispy and easy to make!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh or frozen sweet corn
- Two tablespoon corn flour
- One teaspoon red chilli powd er
- Two green chillies finely chopped
- Coriander leaves finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Method:
- Heat 2 cups of water in a vessel and once the water starts boiling add in the corn kernels. Blanch, the corn for 5 minutes or until it, turns darker in colour.
- Strain the water and transfer the corn into a bowl.
- Mix in the cornflour, chilli powder and salt into the corn using a spatula.
- Make sure that each corn kernels are well-coated with cornflour and seasoning.
- Heat oil in a wok. Ensure that the oil is not extremely hot. Fry the corn kernels at medium flame for about 2-3 minutes until they turn golden brown. Now, increase the flame and fry the corns for 2 minutes to make it crispier.
- Use a strainer spoon to remove the corns from the wok and transfer it to another plate. You can use a tissue to soak away all the extra oil.
- Sprinkle the coriander leaves, green chillies and serve it with a fresh cut lemon.
Cooking tip: This recipe can serve as a base for crispy corn chat. Just add in chopped veggies like onions, tomatoes, mint leaves, capsicum, etc. to make it a complete corn chat which also tastes great!
