Preparation

Step 1 :

In a pressure cooker, boil both the beetroot and potatoes together with some salt.

Step 2 :

In 4 to 5 pressure cooker whistles potatoes get cooked while beetroot found to be half cooked or else you can boil both separately.

Step 3 :

We can use the half boiled beetroot too and grate in a bowl.

Step 4 :

Also mashed the potatoes in same bowl with grated beetroot and evenly mix both ingredients.

Step 5 :

Now add red chilli powder, fennel powder, gram masala powder, coriander power, chaat masala, dry mango powder, fresh coriander leaves, green chili, salt and bread slices.

Step 6 :

Mix all ingredients well using hands or spatula. Now take some oil on your palm and now shape the material in form of tikkis or might you can give different shapes to attract you kids.

Step 7 :

Take some semolina in a plate. Add maida into cup water and make a even paste.

Step 8 :

Dip each tikkis with maida water paste and coat semolina all over dust of the excess.

Step 9 :

In a pan add some of oil and deep fry the tikkis till they are crisp and lightly browned. Even you can shallow fry in non stick pan.

Step 10 :

Serve beetroot tikki hot with some home made chutneys or sauce.
