Salted Caramel Custard

Its a salted caramel custard. This is very much liked in france during winters.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Heat a pan and add the granulated sugar melt it till it turns brown. Add heavy cream and mix well.

Step 2 :

Then add salt and butter. Mix well and remove it from flame. Your caramel is ready

Step 3 :

In a separate bowl add the yolk and cornstarch and mix well to a smooth consistency. keep it aside.

Step 4 :

In another thick bottomed pan heat milk and put the scraped out vanilla pod and mix well. Remove from flame.

Step 5 :

Next slowly add the milk to the yolk mixture stirring it continuously no lumps should be there.

Step 6 :

Put mixture over the flame and mix until it gets thicken. Remove it from flame and mix the caramel sauce with it(Do not use all the caramel sauce).

Step 7 :

Place some caramel sauce in a glass container and pour the custard mixture over it. Refrigerate fr 1.5 to 2 hrs.

Step 8 :

Take out from the fridge garnish it with a dollop of whipped cream and choco chips or any kind of garnish u like.
