Hot dogs are one of the most favourite American street foods. From all-beef hot dogs to those made with other meats and poultry (such as elk and duck), to vegan varieties, it’s something that can be enjoyed by many. I am using chicken franks as it is widely available and a favourite in our country.

Ingredients

2 pieces Hotdog bun Chicken Franks

For Salsa

2 medium Onion 2-3 cloves of garlic

1 tablespoon Tomato Paste 1 teaspoon Vinegar

Salt to taste 1 teaspoon Sugar

4 teaspoon Olive Oil 0.5 Cup Water

For Dressing

Cheese as per taste Ketchup as per taste

Mustard Sauce/Mayonnaise as required

Cooking Steps

Preparation

Step 1 :

Heat the pan, pour 3-4 teaspoons of oil and stir fry the chicken franks for 3-4 minutes until they turn golden brown. Poke the chicken franks to check if it is cooked inside. Once it is cooked, keep it aside.

Step 2 :

In the same pan, pour 4 teaspoons of olive oil. Cut the onions and garlic into small pieces, add it to the pan and sauté for a few minutes until it is cooked.

Step 3 :

Put salt and vinegar and saute. Add tomato paste and sugar and saute.

Step 4 :

After two minutes, pour water and stir it for 3-4 minutes until the sauce becomes thick. Switch off the flame.

Step 5 :

For dressing, take the hot dog bun (I am using Fresho multigrain hotdog bun from Bigbasket). Cut it between (don’t cut it completely) and apply cheese spread. Add the chicken franks inside and pour the sauce prepared on top of it. Then dress it with ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard.

Step 6 :

Slightly toast the hotdog bun on the pan and its ready to serve.
