Ideal to lift your spirits, this dessert is buttery, aromatic and offers a melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Add 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan and heat it.

Step 2 :

Roast the dry fruits till they turn light golden in colour.

Step 3 :

Remove dry fruits from the pan and add 2 more tablespoons of butter.

Step 4 :

On a medium frame, shallow fry moong dal in the butter till they turn golden brown. Keep it aside to cool.

Step 5 :

Once cool, grind the moong in a grinder and form a fine powder.

Step 6 :

Add 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan and heat it. Put all the moong powder in it and fry for around 1 minute.

Step 7 :

Add condensed milk along with khoya and mix it till all blends well (can also add a little milk if required).

Step 8 :

Simmer till the mixture forms a concentrated paste (3-4 minute).

Step 9 :

Add the dry fruit and cardamom power and remove it from the flame.

Step 10 :

Pour the mixture on a greased plate and let it cool.

Step 11 :

Cut the paste vertically and horizontally forming a square shaped barfi. Serve chilled.
