Soya Moti Ki Biryani

A biryani treat, perfect for those who are vegetarians! The soya chunks bring in their own flavour.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Put all the ingredients under soya moti, except rice flour and oil in a mixer and give it a quick swirl. Remove it from the mixer and add rice flour. Make into small balls, fry them and keep aside.

Step 2 :

In a big vessel, heat 3-4 cups water with half of all akha garam masalas and salt. On boiling, add rice and cook till rice is 3/4th done. Drain and keep aside.

Step 3 :

In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon oil. Add remaining akha masalas and onion. Once it's slightly brown, add the tomatoes and dry masalas, ginger-garlic paste, coriander and salt

Step 4 :

Now add the curd and let it dry up for 5-7 minutes. Then add the soya moti and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 5 :

Layer this with rice in cooker and sprinkle with water on top. You can also add kesar dipped in 2-3 tablespoons milk (I didn't have kesar so skipped this). Close and cook without whistle on slow gas for 8-10 minutes.

Step 6 :

Switch it off and serve with raita.
