Whole Wheat Veg Momos

This whole wheat veg momo recipe is low fat and delicious! Enjoy it as a snack.

Preparation

Step 1 : Outer cover for momo

In a mixing bowl, mix whole wheat flour, salt and oil.

Step 2 :

Add water in parts and knead a soft dough. Cover it and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Step 3 : For Stuffing

Heat a pan on the stove and add 1 tablespoon oil. When it is hot, add finely chopped garlic and sauté for a while. Add onions and stir till it is light.

Step 4 :

Add all the other chopped vegetables. Let it cook for 5 minutes.

Step 5 :

Add salt, pepper and soy sauce and mix it well. Turn off the heat.

Step 6 : For Shaping and Steaming

Divide the dough into a medium-sized dough.

Step 7 :

Sprinkle some flour on the surface and roll the dough ball into a thin circle.

Step 8 :

Apply a thin line of water around the edges.

Step 9 :

Put 2 tablespoons of stuffing in the centre of the circle.

Step 10 :

Lift one side of the edge and make three pleats. Bring those three pleats to the centre.

Step 11 :

Seal the three pleats in the centre with the left pleat and join the left pleat with the right pleat. Repeat this process to create a leaf-like design.

Step 12 :

Heat 2.5 cups of water in the steamer and let it come to boil.

Step 13 :

Grease the pan and put the momos. Steam them for 10 to 12 minutes. When the momos turn glossy, that means they are cooked.

Step 14 :

Serve momos immediately with the red chilli garlic chutney.
