Green Peas Momos

A popular North Eastern dish, these street dumplings are versatile and delightful. You just need to master the technique and you can twist them to suit your palate.

Preparation

Step 1 :

Mix the maida, salt and baking powder. Knead to a stiff dough with water.

Step 2 :

Heat oil and add minced ginger, garlic and chilies.

Step 3 :

Saute over high heat and add the fresh crushed green peas and coconut.

Step 4 :

Add salt, coriander and garam masala.

Step 5 :

Roll the dough thin (translucent) and cut it into 4"-5" rounds.

Step 6 :

Take one of the rounds, wet the edges and place some filling in the centre.

Step 7 :

Bring the edges together to cover the filling. Twist to seal and fill the rest in the same way.

Step 8 :

Steam for about 10 minutes and serve with ketchup.
