Mango Chhunda

Aam Chhuda or mango chhunda is a sweet Gujarati chutney/ pickle. A perfect mix of tangy, sweet and yummy, you can serve this alongside breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Step 1 :

Wash, peel and grate the mangoes and keep aside.

Step 2 :

In a heavy bottomed pan, add the grated mangoes and sugar.

Step 3 :

Mix well and cook on medium flame till the sugar mixture forms a one string consistency.

Step 4 :

Add in black salt, cardamom powder, roasted cumin seed powder and red chilli powder and mix well.

Step 5 :

Switch off the flame and let the mixture come to room temperature, following which transfer to an airtight jar.

Step 6 :

This chunndo stays well for upto 3 months.

Step 7 :

Enjoy with parathas, bread or puris.
