This is an easy to make, healthy sweet dish that is rich in calcium and protein.

Cooking Steps

Step 1 :

Clean, wash and soak the chana dal in hot water for 2 hours. Once done, drain well.

Step 2 :

Blend in a mixer to a coarse mixture without adding any water and keep it aside.

Step 3 :

Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add the chana dal mixture, mix well and cook on a slow flame for 10-12 minutes, while stirring continuously.

Step 4 :

Add chopped raisins, hot milk and 1 cup of hot water, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 8-10 minutes.

Step 5 :

Now, add sugar, cardamom powder and saffron strands, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes, ensure to stir it continuously.

Step 6 :

Pour the mixture immediately into a greased plate and press it lightly.

Step 7 :

Sprinkle chopped almond pieces and press it lightly. Cut it into squares using a sharp knife.

Step 8 :

Keep it aside for 1 hour. Serve it immediately or store in an air-tight container in the fridge and use as required.
