Cooking Steps

Step 1 :

Cut onion pieces into long strips. Cut chilli into fine pieces.

Step 2 :

In a bowl, add besan, salt, turmeric power, chilli powder and coriander powder. Mix it well.

Step 3 :

Add water in small amounts to the mixture and mix it well.

Step 4 :

Ensure to add the right amount of water, the batter should not be too thick nor too watery.

Step 5 :

Once done, mix it well to make sure that there are no lumps in the batter.

Step 6 :

Add the onion slices and chilli pieces in the batter and give it a good mix.

Step 7 :

Heat oil in a kadai on medium flame.

Step 8 :

Using a spoon, scoop small portions of the batter along with the onion pieces and place it gently in the kadai.

Step 9 :

Deep fry it until golden brown, once done take it out and place it on a kitchen towel to remove the excess oil.

Step 10 :

Have it hot with sauce and chutney.
