Wheat Paneer Peda is one of the good options for milk based dessert during festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi. It is high in protein, low in fat and rich in calories. A small piece can give you a good amount of energy. It is soft, tasty and requires minimum ingredients.

Step 1 :

In a mixer, add whole wheat grain and grind it into a coarse powder.

Step 2 :

In a vessel, add milk and bring it to a boil.

Step 3 :

Once the milk boils, reduce the flame and add lemon juice to it. Stir it continuously till it starts to split.

Step 4 :

Once the milk curdles, switch off the flame and set it aside.

Step 5 :

In another vessel, add sugar and allow it to carmelize on low heat.

Step 6 :

Switch off the flame and take the vessel off the heat after the sugar slightly turns brown in colour. Ensure not to burn the sugar.

Step 7 :

Take a deep bottom pan and heat ghee in it. Add 2 tbsp of the coarse wheat powder to it.

Step 8 :

Roast the wheat powder till golden brown and add the edible gum to it.

Step 9 :

Stir it until the gum dissolves and add cardamom powder and nutmeg powder to it. Stir until well combined.

Step 10 :

Add the prepared caramelized sugar and curdled milk to the mixture.

Step 11 :

Cook on medium heat till the water evaporates. Stir in between when required. When all the water is dried, the mixture will come together.

Step 12 :

Remove the prepared mixture in a plate. Allow it to rest for 2-3 minutes.

Step 13 :

Grease your palms with ghee. Take small portions of it, roll it into balls and flat it into a circle. Garnish it with raisins, cashew nuts or almonds.
