In a bowl, add maida, sooji and salt. Mix it well.

Take a pan, heat ghee in it, on medium flame for a minute.

Add the heated ghee to the maida mixture and let it cool.

Mix the flour ingredients well and knead it into a smooth dough by adding required amount of water. Allow it to rest for 20 minutes.

Make tiny marble sized balls from the prepared dough.

Take a fork and add a drop of oil at the tines of the fork, spread it with your fingers.

Place a ball on the tines of the fork and using your thumb press the ball until it flattens and folds itself forward, towards the end of the tines. It will shape into a shell. Repeat the same step to form shells.

Heat oil in a kadai, once it heats, add the prepared shells and deep fry it until it turns brown.

Take a pan, add jaggery and then add 1/4 cup of water to it. Heat it until it turns into a one string consistency. Place a drop of syrup in a plate and check it with your fingers whether it becomes a string or not.

If it becomes a string, switch off the flame. Add the fried shells in the syrup and mix until all the shells are covered with the syrup.

Place all the shells in a plate to dry them and serve.
