Modak is a traditional Indian sweet dumpling made with rice flour, coconut and sugar stuffing. It is especially made during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is believed that these steamed dumplings are Lord Ganesha's favourite snack and hence it is offered as an offering during this time.
