Idly Fry with Mushroom and Cheese Stuffing

Bored of eating plain white idli? Try giving it an Italian twist with mushrooms and serve it to your kids. You can even enjoy it as a snack or during Kitty parties.

Preparation

Step 1 :

In a pan, heat some oil and add chopped garlic. Once it lets out water, add onions and caramalize them. Throw in chopped Fresho mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes till all the water is dried out.

Step 2 :

Add salt, pepper, paprika, dried herbs, vinegar and cook for a minute. Switch off the flame and add fresh chopped parsley. Keep your steamer ready.

Step 3 :

When the mixture is cooled down a bit, add cheese and maida so that it absorbs the moisture of the mushrooms. Make small tikkis out of it.

Step 4 :

Fill half of the mould with idli batter and then place one tikki. Add more batter to cover the tikki. Close and steam for around 10-12 minutes.

Step 5 :

Take out the idlis then deep fry them until they turn golden in colour. Serve with hot and spicy ketchup.
