This simple and easy to make chaat recipe is not just tasty but healthy too, with the goodness of Makhana.

Step 1 : To prepare the green chutney

In a blender, add 1 cup of roughly chopped coriander leaves, garlic, green chilli, lemon juice, water and salt to taste.

Step 2 : To make the tamarind chutney

Pour 3 cups of water in a pan, add tamarind, dates and jaggery. Start boiling the mixture. Let it boil for 5 minutes on medium to high flame.

Step 3 :

Add ginger powder, hing, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder and roasted cumin powder to the tamarind mixture, keep stirring it.

Step 4 :

Boil it on low flame till the tamarind and dates have softened and the mixture thickens a little. Cool the mixture and blend it in the mixer.

Step 5 :

Next, roast makhana along with chaat masala and 1 tsp of red chilli powder for a few minutes in a pan.

Step 6 :

Once the chutneys and makhana are ready, take a bowl and mix the curd and roasted makhana together.

Step 7 :

Then, sprinkle some salt and add the tamarind and green chutney as per your taste.

Step 8 :

Garnish with coriander leaves and pomegranate.
