Chocolate Cupcake Nest with Easter Eggs

Delicious chocolate cupcakes topped with a nest of chocolate and filled with mini Easter eggs - a treat that's as fun to make as it is to eat.

For Chocolate Cupcakes & Nest

Step 1 :

Preheat oven to 180C. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and set aside.

Step 2 :

In a bowl sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.

Step 3 :

In another bowl beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4 :

Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla essence and beat until combined.

Step 5 :

Add half of the dry ingredients and beat until just combined. Then beat in milk followed by other dry ingredients beating slowly until just combined.

Step 6 :

Add hot water and beat just until combined. Do not over-mix. The batter should have a liquid consistency.

Step 7 :

Divide the batter evenly between cupcakes filling them about 3/4th full.

Step 8 :

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean. Allow cupcakes to cool completely on a wire rack.

Step 9 :

Melt chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds, take it out and mix well. Again heat it for 30 secs. Put it in a piping bag with a grass nozzle. With the chocolate make a nest on the cupcake and place 3 candy eggs on it.
