Bandar Halwa is a sweet dish. This dessert recipe is extensively savoured at every household of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, be it a regular day or festive occasions like Diwali, Raksha Bandhan or Navratri.

Step 1 :

Soak maida in 1.5 cups of water for 10 minutes.

Step 2 :

In a heavy bottom pan, add 1tsp of ghee and fry cashews nuts in it.

Step 3 :

Fry it till you get a nice aroma and the cashew turns brownish in color.

Step 4 :

Add jaggery and 1.5 cups of water to it. Let the mixture turn thick on low flame, allow it to cook for 20 minutes.

Step 5 :

Now add soaked maida and cook it for 20 minutes till it becomes thick. Add 1/2 cup ghee to it and mix well.

Step 6 :

Finally, add roasted cashew nuts and elaichi powder to it. Stir well.

Step 7 :

Let it simmer on low flame for 2 minutes.
