Turnip is a winter season vegetable loaded with fibre, vitamins and minerals. This dish can be easily prepared and can be eaten with any type of roti.

Step 1 :

Take turnip, peel it and cut into small pieces.

Step 2 :

In a pressure cooker, add half a teacup of water, chopped turnip, salt, turmeric and chilli powder. Close the lid and allow it to cook on high flame for about 2-3 whistles.

Step 3 :

When the pressure from the cooker releases completely, open the lid and mash the turnip pieces.

Step 4 :

Take a pan, add ghee, cumin seeds, hing, onion, ginger and garlic paste, salt and chilli powder. Saute it well until the onion is cooked.

Step 5 :

Add chopped tomato, green chillies and coriander leaves to it and stir.

Step 6 :

When the mixture starts to release oil, mix the mashed turnip into the mixture.

Step 7 :

Mix well and allow it to cook on medium flame for 2-3 minutes. Switch off the gas and serve it hot with any roti.
