Masala Whole Peas

The dish is ready to enjoy the lovely taste of the pea pods - as a snack. Just put in mouth and pull to savour the pea pod contents minus the veins and the inner skin or with fresh parantha while taking care to separate the veins and inner skin

Preparation

Step 1 :

Wash the whole peas thoroughly and keep aside to drain

Step 2 :

Mix all the listed spices (masalas) and keep ready

Step 3 :

Heat oil in a kadai or thick bottomed vessel till transparent

Step 4 :

Add the whole peas to hot oil (may splutter a bit)

Step 5 :

Sprinkle the masala mix over the peas

Step 6 :

Turn and Toss for about about 1/2 min

Step 7 :

Add 1/2 cup water and turn the heat (gas) to sim

Step 8 :

Cover and let cook for 10 mins

Step 9 :

Remove lid and turn to check that all water has dried up to the extent that the peas remain moist
