Doodh Pakoda

A delightful Gujarati dessert blending crispy lentil fritters with rich, creamy milk for a unique indulgence.

Doodh Pakoda:

Step 1 :

Take a bowl and soak the urad dal. 30 minutes to 1 hours should be enough.

Step 2 :

Take a pan and boil the milk (Set aside 4-5 tsp or milk before boiling). Stir till it thickens.

Step 3 :

Grind the soaked urad dal to a fine paste and then beat it to create smooth consistency.

Step 4 :

Take a small frying pan and heat the ghee till it melts.

Step 5 :

Keep the pan in medium to high-flame and drop with the pakodi batter into the pan in small scoops using your hands or a spoon.

Step 6 :

Fry till they turn golden brown and set it aside.

Step 7 :

Into the remaining cold milk, add and mix custard powder. Place the vessel on the stove and bring it to boil while stirring.

Step 8 :

Add sugar and the chopped dry fruit mix.

Step 9 :

Continue stirring for 8-10 minutes on a low flame.

Step 10 :

Turn off the stove and toss in the pakodis. Sprinkle cardamom powder over the whole mix and give it a stir. Cover and set it aside for 20 minutes.

Step 11 :

You can serve the doodh pakoda hot or cold.
