Cake base:
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Grease a 11 inch or 10 x 12 inch baking pan with butter.
Take a large bowl, sift and mix flour, baking powder and salt.
Take another bowl and separate egg whites and yolks.
Add sugar (2 tsp) into the bowl of yolks. Beat it using a blender or a mixer till pale yellow or a creamish colour.
Add milk and vanilla essence into it.
Beat the egg whites till they are fluffy.
Continue beating while you pour in the sugar. Beat till it turns thick.
Into the flour mix, pour the beaten egg yolk mixture and using a spatula mix gently. A scoop and swirl action works best.
Now pour the egg white mix and continue mixing the same way.
Grease and pour batter into the preheated baking pan. Tap the pan so the batter sets in the same level.
Bake at 350?F for 30 minutes. Check by pricking with a knife or a toothpick. If it comes out clean, it’s done. If not, continue to bake for 5-8 minutes.
Set it aside to cool.
Milk for the soaking dip:
Take a large bowl, pour and mix heavy whipping cream, half and half, and condensed milk.
Make small holes on the cake once it cools and slowly drizzle the milk mix over it.
Frosting:
Pour cold heavy whipping cream and sugar (6 tsp) into a large chilled mixing bowl.
Beat for up to 2 minutes or until thick.
Spread over the cake using a spatula.
