A cherished Odia dessert, Chhena Poda is a delightful baked sweet made with fresh paneer, perfect for festive celebrations.

Chhena Poda

Step 1 :

Pre-heat oven to 180 degree C.

Step 2 :

In a large bowl take fresh paneer and mash it well with your hands.

Step 3 :

Add and mix sugar and cardamom powder.

Step 4 :

Add rava, ghee, and milk. Mix well till it combines.

Step 5 :

Take a small frying pan and roast the cashews golden. Add it to the above mixture. Chenna dough is ready.

Step 6 :

Grease a wide cake pan with ghee.

Step 7 :

Add sugar and heat the pan base till the sugar starts to melt and caramelize.

Step 8 :

Turn off the gas and add the chenna mix over the caramelized sugar.

Step 9 :

Tap the pan to settle the mix well and bake the chenna for 40-45 minutes.

Step 10 :

Take out the baked chenna poda and set it aside to cool for around 2-3 hours.

Step 11 :

Carefully flip the pan onto a tray.

Step 12 :

Slice and serve.
